PATNA: Close to 1,000 students were expelled for cheating during the 10-day intermediate examinations which concluded yesterday in Bihar.
According to an official report, a total of 985 examinees were expelled for using unfair means in the examination.
A maximum of 104 examinees were expelled In Gaya district, followed by 86 in Saran, and 61 each in Madhepura and Saharsa.
According to officials, 25 fake examiners were also caught and FIRs were lodged against guardians for helping their wards to cheat in the examinations.
Last year, 1,750 students had been expelled.
