PATNA: As many as 13 cops deployed in the security of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama at Bodh Gaya in Bihar have been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty.
“We will tolerate no lapse in the security of the Dalai Lama,” Gaya’s senior superintendent of police Garima Malik told the media on Wednesday.
The Dalai Lama arrived for a month-long stay at Bodh Gaya on Monday evening. His three-day teaching to his followers will begin at the local Kalchakra ground from January 5.
More than 20,000 people are expected to join his function, reports said.
