PATNA: Angry businessmen protested in Bihar a day after a prominent trader was shot dead by criminals in the heart of Patna.
The victim identified as Purushottam Kumar (50) was the owner of a sweet shop located at New Dak Bungalow Road locality of the state capital.
Angry protesters shut down shops, shouted slogans against the government and protested with the body of the victim, seeking protection to business community people and adequate compensation for the victim family.
As per media reports, the victim was going on his bike on Saturday evening when some four motorcycle-borne criminals tried to snatch cash which he was carrying in a bag. They shot him dead and walked away with the cash after he refused to hand over the cash.
This is the second major killing of businessman in the past two months. Earlier in December, another prominent businessman and BJP leader Gunjan Khemka was shot dead in Vaishali district.
