PATNA: The Supreme Court today ordered for shifting of Brajesh Thakur, main accused in the Muzaffarpur care home sex scandal, to high-security Patiala jail in Punjab.
Thakur is currently lodged in the Bhagalpur central jail in Bihar.
Last week, the court had termed the shelter home rape case as “horrible” and “scary” and questioned the inaction of the Bihar government in the case.
The court had also observed why Thankur should not be transferred to the jails outside Bihar since he is an influential person.
“Its very scary and terrible. What is the Bihar government doing? Brajesh Thakur (main accused) is a very influential man,” the apex court was quoted as saying in the local media last week.
As many as 34 girls were allegedly sexually abused at the shelter home.
