Bihar minister skips funeral of martyred jawan, celebrates Valentine’s Day instead

PATNA: A senior minister in the ruling Nitish Kumar government in Bihar today skipped the funeral of an Indian soldier Mujahid Khan who laid down his life, fighting for the country.

The soldier’s body was laid to rest at his native village of Piro in Bihar’s Bhojpur district today amid presence of a huge crowd of villagers who gathered to pay last respect to the brave jawan.

However, no minister from the government was present there to pay him the last respect.

“What was further humiliating was the fact that the minister-in-charge of Bhojpur district, Vinod Singh was busy celebrating Valentine’s Day with his wife in Katihar,” according to a report in the India Today.

According to the India Today, a picture of the minister has gone viral where he is seen celebrating Valentine’s Day with his wife Nisha.

The minister claims he came to know about his martyrdom only once he reached Katihar from where he had won elections.
