As per a rough estimate, more than 50,000 people from Bihar are currently employed in foreign countries.

Majority of the people working in foreign countries hails from Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj and Darbhanga.

The Bihar State Overseas Employment Bureau is already functioning in the state but it’s not fully active now, as per reports. The government is now assessing how many staffs it needs to recruit to properly run the office.

The state government in the meanwhile has allotted Rs 4 crore (Rs40 million) to infuse life in its overseas employment bureau.
