PATNA: There is a very strong reason to feel dispirited for firebrand BJP leader and Union minister Giriraj Singh.

The Nawada seat from Bihar which Giriraj currently represents in the Lok Sabha seat has gone to the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) under the seat-sharing arrangement, media reports said.

“This seat (Nawada) has now gone to our party quota,” state LJP president Pashupati Kumar Paras told the local media on Monday.

According to him, this seat has been given to the LJP in exchange for its sitting Munger seat which has gone to the JD-U’s share.

In the last LS polls, Veena Devi, wife of Surajbhan Singh, was declared elected from Munger seat and hence she is most likely to shift to Nawada under the changed circumstances.

For the past years since he was elected form this Bhumihar-dominated seat, Giriraj had been nursing his constituency with many development projects but suddenly he finds himself in troubled water.

Giriraj, as per media reports, is being offered another Bhumihar-dominated Begusarai seat but the problem is that THE powerful student leader Kanhaiya Kumar is likely to be fielded from there as a Grand Alliance-backed CPI candidate.

If that happens, Giriraj may really face tough time as there are maximum chances of Bhumihar voters getting split.

Very obviously, Giriraj finds himself in a critical situation. Recently, he even skipped the March 3 NDA rally in Patna addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi although he said he stayed away from the rally since he fell sick.
