BJP’s biggest worry: How to defeat rebellious Shotgun on his home turf

PATNA: The Bhartiya Janat Party (BJP) is struggling hard to choose between two party’s Rajya Sabha Members to find out a perfect replacement for rebel party MP Shatrughan Sinha who is being denied ticket this time owing to his anti-party activities.

Sinha, a Bollywood actor-turned-politician who has huge army of fans and followers across all castes represents Patna Sahib seat in Bihar but has turned a rebel in recent months.

The authority he enjoys among the voters is underlined from the fact that the BJP has not dared to expel him from the party unlike Kirti Azad who was shown the door for his anti-party activities soon.

Now the BJP is trying to show him the right place by denying him ticket but the main challenge now is how to defeat him in the election. That’s why the party leadership is burning midnight oil to search for a suitable candidate who could defeat him in the election.

As per the reports, the BJP is choosing between Ravishankar Prasad and RK Singh, both coming from the same Kayastha community.

While Prasad is a union minister in the Narendra Modi government, Sinha is a Rajya Sabha member.

The BJP is angry at the way Shotgun as Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha is also known, has gone on continuously shooting the PM from his mouth over various issues and also joined the opposition rallies. However, the BJP has been simply “helpless” to initiate action against him.

Shotgun, on the other hand, has announced to contest from the same seat which he currently represents ion the Lok Sabha.

“Whatever be the situation, my location will be the same,” he has declared umpteen time. He is most likely to contest the next election on RJD ticket.

Sinha turned a rebel soon after he was not included in the Modi’s cabinet. Since then he has not missed any opportunity to hit out at PM Modi which has irked the BJP.
