Blasts in firecracker factory kill five in Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s home district

PATNA: A devastating fire broke out at an illegal firecracker factory in Bihar on Thursday night, killing at least five and wounding 20 others.

The victims include three children.

The incident took place at Khasganj village located under Sohsarai police station in Nalanda, the home district of Bihar chief minister

“The cause of the fire is being investigated,” a local police official Rajesh Kumar told the media on Friday.

The blasts caused by fire were so powerful that they damaged some nearby homes and its sound was heard many kms away.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has ordered an investigation into the matter and also announced to provide medical aids to the injured admitted to the local hospital.
