PATNA: A MP from Bihar today asked the masses to burn to death “non-performing” politicians, terming them as proverbial Ravana, stirring up a fresh controversy.
“Today’s politicians are like ‘Ravanas’…they will have to be burnt to death,” Yadav who represents Madhepura seat from Bihar in Lok Sabhba told the media on Sunday.
Yadav who is also the chief of the Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) made these remarks during his tour of Araria district to campaign for his party.
He expressed displeasure over how the present-day leaders had diverted from the real path and were least interested in raising the issues of the common masses.
“The leaders who fail to work for the common men and provide justice to death don’t deserve to be lived. They must be burnt to death,” he added.
Earlier, the parliamentarian had stirred a controversy by announcing to reward those who assault officials seeking bribes from flood victims in lieu of providing them relief.
He kicked up the controversy again when he asked Maoists to kill the “corrupt” leaders, instead of security forces. “Maoists shouldn’t kill the forces deployed in the security of the country. This will weaken the nation. Instead, they should kill the leaders who are robbing the nation,” was how Yadav had suggested rebels.
