PATNA: The RJD has strongly rebuffed the JD-U for suggesting deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav to resign categorically stating he won’t do that.
“We will not be dictated by others (JD-U). Tejashwi is our deputy CM and he will continue on that post,” cooperative minister Alok Mehta said reacting to JD-U suggestion for resignation.
He added Tejashwi has done a very good job as Dy CM and is the youth icon.
RJD’s national vice-president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh was more curt saying Tejashwi would even attend the Cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday.
“Why wouldn’t he (Tejashwi) attend the cabinet meeting? He is deputy CM and will continue on this post,” said Singh, replying to a media query at the end of RJD meeting held at the residence of Lalu Prasad late Tuesday evening.
Tejashwi who became the minister for the first time has been named as an accused in a corruption case by the CBI which also raided his bungalow on Friday.
The scandal relates to acquiring landed properties in lieu of leasing out railway hotels to private parties and this took place while the RJD president Lalu Prasad was the federal railway minister.
