PATNA: Caught in troubles from all sides, former Bihar chief minister and wife of RJD president Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi has now announced to observe Chhath puja this year again.
She had skipped the puja last year which “brought” a flood of miseries to her extended family, claim people close to her.
Not only was her party, the RJD, thrown out of power in the state as chief minister Nitish Kumar joined hands with the BJP but also almost her entire family was made accused in various corruption cases.
The last time she had observed this festival was in 2015 when her party returned to power after a full one decade and both her sons were also appointed as ministers in the erstwhile Grand Alliance government. However, she skipped the festival last year owing to his falling health.
“She will observe the Chhath puja this time again. The preparations will begin shortly after the Dewali (festival of light),” RJD chief has told the media.
Right now, almost her entire family has been facing troubles in corruption cases with the whole lot of investigating agencies such as the CBI, ED and IT department probing their alleged benami properties.
The family members currently facing the heat of the investigating agencies include Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri, son Tejashwi Yadav, and daughters Misa Bharti, Ragini Yadav, Chanda Yadav and Hema Yadav, according to media reports.
