PATNA: Amid declining population of tigers in the country, a tigress kept in the Patna zoo has given birth to four cubs, bringing cheers among the animal lovers.
Patna zoo authorities said all the cubs are healthy and they are keeping a close watch on them from CCTV cameras.
The tigress named Swarna had been brought to the Patna zoo from Hyderabad about a decade back.
This is the third time that the tigress had born four cubs, bringing the total number of tigers to nine in Patna zoo.
“The tigress gave birth to the cubs on the day of Holi. All are healthy now,” zoo director Nand Kishore told the media today.
