New Delhi: A special CBI court in Delhi sentenced former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda to three years’ imprisonment in a coal block allocation scam, reports said.
Similar punishment was awarded also to former coal secretary H C Gupta and two others.
Special Judge Bharat Parashar pronounced a fine of Rs 50 lakh on the errant company Kolkata-based firm Vini Iron & Steel Udyog Ltd.
The special court also imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh on Koda while Gupta has been fined for Rs 100,000.
A fine of Rs 45 lakh has been imposed on Koda’s close aide Vijay Joshi, and Rs 100,000 on ex-Jharkhand chief secretary A K Basu.
