PATNA: Miscreants killed a man in Bihar and then fled away with his severed head after he failed to give extortion to them. The police in a quick action have arrested the miscreants and also recovered the head.
Police said the victim along with some labourers was carrying animal fodder on a tractor trolly in southern Bihar’s Nawada district on Saturday night when some miscreants stopped the vehicle and sought extortion of Rs20,000 from him.
He expressed his inability to pay up this big amount and offered Rs50 which angered the miscreants.
In a fit of rage, the miscreants shot the man dead and then ran the tractor on his body before chopping off his head with a sharp-edged traditional weapon and walking away with the head.
The 30-year-old victim was the lone earning member of his family with his wife and four children.
Acting on the formation provided by the driver, the police later launched extensive searches in the areas and arrested both the miscreants.
Based on the information provided by the arrested miscreants, the police later recovered the severed head too from a local village pond.
“We have recovered the head from a local pond and handed the body to the family for last rites,” a local police official Sriprakash Singh told the media on Monday. He said the police have arrested both the miscreants involved in the crime.
