PATNA: Authorities in Bihar have suspended 10 policemen after a youth came rushing near chief minister Nitish Kumar at a public meeting on Saturday and allegedly hurled a black muffler targeting him in a bid to convey the message about his penury.
Reports quoting local media said the chief minister was seated at the dais at a rally at Balia in Begusarai disitrict when a youth came rushing, walked up to the dais and allegedly hurled his black muffler targetting him.
Soon the cops in the security of the chief minister rushed and nabbed him.
During interrogation, the youth identified as Ajit Kumar Sharma said he wanted to talk to the chief minister and request him to waive off his loan but was arrested.
“I am very poor and in debt but am burdened with the responsibility to marry off my three sisters,” the youth reportedly told his interrogators.
Taking the matter seriously, the authorities have now suspended 10 policemen for security lapse and also show-caused five police officials.
