‘Dismiss NDA government,’ demand protesting Opp lawmakers in Bihar

PATNA: Angry opposition lawmakers led by Tejashwi Yadav marched to the Raj Bhawan on Thursday evening seeking dismissal of the chief minister Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar.

The protesters charged the state government with shielding the accused of the care home sex scandals and said the government had no moral authority to stay in office.

Once the House proceedings came to a close on Thursday evening, the lawmakers led by Tejashwi marched to the Raj Bhawan on foot and handed over a memorandum seeking for dismissal of the government.

“Helpless children and girls lodged in various care homes in Bihar were subjected to sexual tortures but what’s shocking is that the state government instead of initiating action against the tormentors is busy is shielding them,” Tejashwi alleged.

He also demanded for making public the call records of Brajesh Thakur, the main accused in the Muzaffarpur care home sex scandal now lodged in Patiala jail.

As many as 34 children were allegedly gang-raped at the care home being run the Thakur-led NGO.
