PATNA: Well you may have seen your friends or someone in the family cutting cakes to celebrate their birthdays but ever came across the animal in similar role?
People in Bihar were quite amused when they saw an elephant named Rani cutting a large cake on her 8th birthday and many guests clapping to celebrate this rare occasion.
Rani cut the 50-pound cake at the residence of her owner Mahendra Pradhan located at Mathurapur village in Samastipur district today and one of the guests present on the occasion included none other than Bihar assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary.
Video footages showed Rani wrapping a big sword in its trunk and then cutting the large cake spread on a wooden cot as the guests cheer.
“I have brought up Rani like my child. Her mother died soon after giving her birth and it was a challenge for me to keep her alive. I arranged her milk from four-five cows everyday to let her grow. I am happy that Rani is now eight-year-old,” Pradhan, a proclaimed animal lover, told TheBiharPost by phone.
Quite many big personalities and hundreds of children were invited on this occasion.
Bihar assembly Speaker Chaudhary thanked Pradhan for showing great deal of love for the animal.
“In this busy age when people have no time to even convey Birthday greetings to their near and dear ones, Pradhanji’s love for an animal is really praiseworthy,” Speaker said.
