Eunuchs save little Bihar girl from being sold to human traffickers

PATNA: A group of eunuchs have saved a teenaged girl from India’s Bihar state from being pushed into the flesh trade by providing her safe protection and handing her over to the police. The police have registered a case and efforts are on to arrest the accused involved in the deal.

Reports said a man was carrying a 15-year-old girl, a resident of Nawada district of Bihar, with him on the pretext of making her watch the nature’s beauty at seashore and boarded a train for Pune earlier this week.

While she was travelling with the man, he was heard telling someone that she has been sold for Rs600,000 to a Pune man who would push her in the flesh trade.

Once coming to known about the man’s plan, she instantly planned to escape from his clutches. So when the train reached Allahabad railway station in Uttar Pradesh, she met some eunuchs and narrated him about the entire story.

Subsequently, the eunuchs took her to Moghulsarai railway station (now renamed as Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya station) and finally dropped her to her married cousin sister’s home at Bare village in Kaimur district under their full protection.

Soon after reaching there, the victim girl reported the matter to the local police which recorded her statement and registered a case. During investigation of the case, the police came to know that it was girl’s parents who had sold her to a broker for Rs150,000.

“We have recorded her statements and forwarded the matter to her home district in Nawada for further action,” sub-divisional police official, Kaimur, Ajay Prasad told the media on Saturday. The police have registered the case against her parents and two others. All are absconding.
