PATNA: Rebel JD-U MP Sharad Yadav today appeared shocked and shattered over the way chief minister Nitish Kumar has taken a complete U-turn to join hands with his rival, the BJP.
He revealed how RJD president Lalu Prasad was not in favour of joining hands with Nitish Kumar but agreed to be a part of the Grand Alliance only because of collective pressures from various political parties.
“It was Nitish Kumar who always wanted a grand alliance in Bihar. Nitish ji went to Lalu ji a number of times, as he was not happy with the idea of alliance; he was not ready. Lalu ji got ready to become a part of alliance because of collective pressure and demand,” Yadav was quoted as saying by news agency ANI at a Press conference in Delhi.
According to Yadav, Lalu Prasad was already fighting several corruption cases when the alliance was formed.
“Now he (Nitish Kumar) says that he has taken a stand against corruption. I, through my entire life, have fought against corruption and anything which is illegitimate. Have you ever seen two different parties with contradictory manifestos coming together? That’s immoral,” asked Yadav.
The RJD president himself has revealed so many times that he was not interested in joining hands with him.
“Ham janate the ki ye aadami shahi nahin hai. Ham nahin man rahe the CM. Isko main janata hun…Chhali aadami hai (I knew he is not a good man and was not in favour of projecting him as CM. I knew he can’t be trusted),” is how Prasad has told masses about Nitish Kumar at his recent rallies.
