PATNA: Former Bihar social welfare minister Manju Verma has got into fresh trouble.
Police have registered a case against Verma and her husband after 50 live cartridges were recovered from her in-laws’ home during a CBI raid conducted last week.
The case has been registered by a CBI official with the Cheria-Beriyarpaur police station in Begusarai district.
According to Begusarai district Superintendent of police Aditya Kumar, some of the cartridges recovered were of Self Loading Rifle (SLR), while a few were of .32 calibre, India Today reported today.
Kumar added any civilian in the country cannot obtain Self Loading Rifles.
The raid was conducted at her in-laws’ home located at Arjun Tola in Begusarai district on August 17 after her husband’s alleged complicity was found in the Muzaffarpur shelter home sex scandal.
