PATNA: Former Bihar assembly Speaker and rebel JD-U leader Uday Narayan Chaudhary was attacked by some anti-social elements in Bihar today.
According to media reports, Chaudhary had gone to Apsad village in Nawada district to meet the family of a Dalit villager who was killed after he resisted rape of his daughter, when some people attacked him.
He somehow saved himself by fleeing the scene. According to Chaudhary, he was roughed up, hurled abuses and forced to flee.
“I had a providential escape in the incident. Dalits are not secure in the NDA government whether at the centre or in the State,” Chaudhary told the media on Tuesday.
He alleged he was also prevented from meeting the victim family.
