PATNA: A meeting of the RJD parliamentary board held here today authorized party chief Lalu Prasad to decide over the name of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Prasad is currently undergoing treatment at a Jharkhand hospital under judicial custody.
The meeting held in the absence of Prasad also authorized Prasad to join hands with like-minded parties, make selection of party candidates and decide over the seat-sharing with allies. The meeting was held at the residence of Rabri Devi.
“The meeting took four decisions in Prasad’s absence and asked the leaders to work with full enthusiasm to ensure victory of party/alliance candidates on all 40 LS seats in Bihar,” RJD’s state president Ram Chandra Purve told the media on Saturday.
In another significant move, the RJD decided not to celebrate Holi this year in view of Pulwama terror attack in which more than 40 soldiers were killed.
