PATNA: What expected to be an explosion turned out to be a crackling sound in the end!
The JD-U in a curious turnaround today suggested the deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav to prove his innocence among the masses and before the media with “credible evidence”.
Tejashwi has been named as an accused in a corruption case by the CBI which also raided his premises on Friday but he claims these all are being done as part of a larger political conspiracy.
“Those facing charges (of corruption) must go to the people’s court and present the facts,” JD-U spokesperson Neeraj Kumar told the media at the end of party meeting held here today, obliquely referring to Dy CM.
Earlier, it was widely speculated in the media that that the chief minister Nitish Kumar would seek resignation of his deputy for the corruption charges against him as was seen in the case of his other “tainted” colleagues who were forced to resign soon.
The JD-U spokesperson added the mandate was in favor of the Grand Alliance and the JD-U would follow the coalition dharma till the end.
