PATNA: A BJP parliamentarian from Bihar has hit out at his own party for sparing too many seats for the JD-U which could win only two seats in the last Lok Sabha polls.
Chhedi Paswan who represents Sasaram LS seat in the parliament on Wednesday questioned the BJP’s rationale behind allotting 17 seats to the JD-U which is headed by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.
“This is not a good decision of the party. The JD-U should have been given a maximum of 10 seats but we don’t know went behind the deal,” Paswan told a news channel on Wednesday.
As per the deal reached among NDA partners for Bihar, the BJP and the JD-U will be contesting on 17 seats each while the rest six seats have been left for the LJP of Ram Vilas Paswan.
According to him, the BJP should have contested elections on all its 22 sitting seats. “May be the BJP has the plans to field its candidates from JD-U tickets,” he remarked.
He also said the BJP should have entered into alliance with the JD-U after proper deliberation.
“Why the JD-U is taking a taking stands on certain issues when it has entered into an alliance with the BJP?” asked Paswan.
