PATNA: The JD-U, a key constituent of BJP-led NDA in Bihar, has opposed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s idea of bringing a law for construction of Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhaya.
“The issue is in the Supreme Court. We must wait for it,” JD-U spokesperson KC Tyagi told the media on Thursday shortly after Bhagwat made this demand from the Centre in his Vijayadashmi address.
Another JD-U spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan said the party had no problem if the temple was constructed in the light of Court’s judgment or with the consensus of both communities.
“No third alternative is acceptable to the JD-U,” Ranjan added. The JD-U is headed by chief minister Nitish Kumar.
