PATNA: Former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has termed as “unwarranted” the statements being issued against RJD chief Lalu Prasad by the NDA leaders.
“Whatever being said against Lalu Prasad and his family at this juncture is not fair,” Manjhi who heads the Hindustani Awam Morcha told the media on Wednesday.
“Some is saying he is facing the consequences of his ‘maha pap’ (sinful acts), other is predicting about his jail. What is the point in making such observations when the court is already there?” Manjhi asked.
The RJD chief is currently in jail after being convicted by the CBI court in a fodder scam case last month.
The court was to pronounce the quantum of judgment in the case today but deferred it on Thursday following death of two layers.
