PATNA: A CBI judge hearing the fodder scam case suggested RJD chief Lalu Prasad to pay ‘tabla’ after the latter complained he had been experiencing bitter cold in the jail, media reports said on Friday.
Prasad is currently in the Ranchi-based Birsa Munda central jail after being convicted in the fodder scam.
“Sir, it’s very cold in the prisons,” Prasad reportedly told the CBI judge Shivpal Singh in the court on Thursday. The judge reportedly responded by asking him to play “tabla or harmonium” to beat the cold.
“Thand lagati hai to jail mein harmonium-tabla bajaiye aur mast rahiye (Play harmonium or table to beat the cold),” the local media quoted judge as having suggested the RJD president.
Reports said the RJD president also raised the issue of a eunuch prisoner harassing the inmates lodged in the jail.
“Sir, there is a eunuch in the jail who asks inmates to marry,” Prasad told the judge who suggested in his own way.
“Everything will be right now that you are there,” the reportedly said as per media reports.
The RJD chief also reportedly asked the judge to deliver his judgment with “cool mind” to which the judge replied that he had got phone calls from his well-wishers.
“But don’t worry. I will follow only law”, the judge told Prasad.
