Srinagar: A key aide of Pakistan-based militant organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar, Kamran, was killed in an encounter with the security forces on Monday in what has come as a big win for the Indian Army days after Pulwama terrorist attack.
The second terrorist who was gunned down has been identified as Ghazi Rasheed, who is an Afghan national.
The encounter took place in the same Pulwaman district of Jammu and Kashmir where at least 40 soldiers were killed in terrorist attack.
Earlier, four soldiers including an officer were killed in an overnight encounter with the JeM.
After getting an input that JeM militants were hiding in the Pinglan area, army, police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel launched a search operation.
How Pulwama terrorist attack took place?
A suicide bomber (fidayeen) rammed an IED-laden vehicle into a vehicle carrying CRPF at Goripora, Awantipora on Thursday afternoon.
The vehicle used by the terrorists was a Mahindra Scorpio and it carried more than 350 kg of explosives.
The ‘Fidayeen’ (who carried out the suicide attack) has been identified as Adil Ahmad, a resident of Kakapora in Pulwama.
