PATNA: A man in Bihar ended his life by pumping bullets into his head during live chatting with his girlfriend through video-calling. The man was apparently frustrated after failing in love, police say.
The bizarre incident took place on late Sunday night in Patna, the capital of Bihar state.
Reports said Abhas Kumar, son of Sanjay Ram from Beur locality of Patna, made video-calls to his girl friend late Sunday night and threatened to commit suicide while placing a pistol on his head.
Watching the man placing the firearm on his temple, the girl turned panicky and requested him to first keep the pistol aside or just remove bullets from it before they start chatting.
Reports said the man opted for the second advice and removed bullets from the firearms but didn’t notice one of the bullets still present inside since he was engaged in conversation with his girlfriend.
Even as the chatting was going on live, he placed the pistol on his temple and pushed the trigger, apparently unaware of the fact that one bullet was still inside. Soon the bullet hit his head, killing him on the spot, as per the reports.
The entire incident came to light after one of his close relatives rushed to the spot and broke open the door of the house when the victim refused to receive calls made on his mobile.
Witnesses said the victim was lying in a pool of blood with cell phone still on his one hand and pistol in another. The chatting took place around 3 in the morning. The police have recovered his body along with the cell phone and pistol, and sent them postmortem and forensic tests respectively.
“We have collected evidences from the spot and the matter is being investigated by the police,” a local senior police official Ramakant Prasad told the media on Monday. A team of forensic experts too have rushed to the spot.
As per reports, the youth was in love with a girl whom he wants to marry but the family members from both sides were totally opposed to this relation.
Owing to protests, the man had apparently been living in tension for some time and threatening to commit suicides.
