PATNA: Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) president Upendra Kushwaha on Saturday served an ultimatum to the BJP to finalise the “respectable” seat-sharing deal by November 30 failing which his party would be free to take its own course of action.
“Is mahine ke ant tak batchit ka daur pura ho…sammanjanak seat mile (I request the BJP to complete the seat-sharing process by the end of this month, possibly by November 30, and give ‘respectable’ number of seats to the RLSP),” Kushwaha told a Press conference in Patna at the end of his party’s state executive meeting.
He said the RLSP has rejected the current seat offer by the BJP and would wait for “respectable offer” by November 30.
According to him, he tried to meet BJP chief Amit Shah twice to discuss the seat-sharing deal but failed in his attempts.
“Now, I won’t take the initiate from my side to meet any BJP leader except for Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he declared.
He said it was with the personal initiative the PM that he had joined the NDA in 2014.
“I had supported Modiji as PM candidate right at the time when his name was not even announced for this post and even some BJP people were projecting someone as PM material,” Kushwaha said, adding some people from Bihar NDA don’t want to see Modi as PM for the next time.
“I will suggest the PM not to come in the words of “those” people whose acts are destroying the career of students in Bihar for long ,” he added.
