Lalu appoints wife as RJD’s vice-president to run party in his absence

PATNA: RJD president Lalu Prasad today appointed his wife Rabri Devi as the party’s new national vice-president.

She gets the news responsibility in the organization along with four other leaders, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Shivanad Tiwari, Mod Illyas Hussain and Mangani Lal Mandal.

Prasad had earlier appointed his wife as the chief minister of Bihar while going to jail in the fodder scam in 1997.

Prasad’s three children, on the other hand, have been inducted as the national executive members who include Misa Bharti, Tejashwi Yadv and Tej Pratap Yadav.

A significant exclusion from the national working committee is Mohammad Shahabuddin, longtime aide of Prasad now serving life term in Delhi’s Tihar jail.

Although Shahabuddin has been removed as national executive member, his wife Heena Shahab has been included in the committee in his place.

The JD-U taunted over the reconstitution of RJD committee saying Prasad’s sons-in-law too should have been given the place in the new committee.
