PATNA: In yet another incident of mob lynching, a suspected robber was beaten to death by an angry mob in Bihar on Tuesday. This is the fourth incident of lynching in the past five days claiming six lives.
The incident took place in Sasaram town, the district headquarters of western Bihar’s Sasaram district.
Police said the group of robbers made abortive bid to rob heavy cash from two railway employees in the day.
Failing in their attempt they attacked the railway employees who raised an alarm, making the people chase the robbers.
Sensing danger, the robbers opened fire to scare away the chasing mob but this failed to deter the mob who caught one of them while the rest two fled on their bike.
The caught robber was later mercilessly thrashed by the mob. TV footages showed some youths repeatedly hitting the accused lying on the ground with belts.
He was later rescued by the police who rushed him to the hospital but the doctors declared him having brought dead.
