PATNA: The main opposition RJD today launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for keeping mum on the incidents of rapes taking place in BJP-ruled states. The party also wondered over the mysterious silence of the BJP leaders over the issue.

“Make in India to Rape in India,” Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav tweeted today, mocking how the Modi government’s flagship indigenous manufacturing drive has been eclipsed by a series of rape incidents across the BJP-ruled states.

Tejashwi who served as the deputy chief minister in the previous Grand Alliance government also mentioned the Unnao rape case in Uttar Pradesh and Kathua rape incident in Jammu and Kashmir where the BJP is in power.

Taking potshots at the PM, he wondered over Modi’s silence over such a sensitive issue.

“Why 56” chested PM mum on brutal rapes taking place in BJP ruling state? Why all women MPs, MLAs & Ministers of BJP are tight lipped on such rapes? Why they adopt selective, negative & religious approach on crime against women?” he tweeted.

Tejashwi, of late, has been very critical of the BJP but this was for the first time that he appeared too harsh in his making his statements.

He also strongly reacted to a statement by BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi and termed Dalits, minority and women as beautiful creations of God.

“Dalits, minority and women are beautiful creations of God. If BJP can’t respect and sympathise with human beings, if they can’t criticize bloody rapists then they are not believer of humanity and God,” he tweeted.

He was reacting to the statement by Lekhi who said, “You see their plan, first shout ‘minority minority’, then ‘Dalit Dalit’, and now ‘women women’ and then try to somehow fix blame of state issues on the centre. All this while ignoring the strict action being taken by state govts”.
