PATNA: A man in Bihar died of heart attack after getting an inflated power bill of around Rs30 lakh for three months.
The incident took place at Mirjapur-Nayatola village in Bhagalpur district on Wednesday, local media reported today.
As per the report, the victim identified as Gaina Lal Sah had got power connection for his flour mill which he ran to eke out livelihood for his family.
A couple of days back, he received an inflated power bill of Rs2.9 million for three months. The handing out of the hefty power bill shocked him so much so that he fainted on the ground and collapsed soon thereafter, family members said.
“My father fell on the ground soon after seeing the inflated bill handed out by the power officials. He never stood up,” victim’s son Ranglal Sah told the Gulf News.
The police have recovered body of the victim and begun investigation in the case. “We have sent the body for postmortem and are investigating the case,” a local police official Nasim Khan said. He said the police have registered a case against the power officials.
