The group attacked students, parents, teachers and even pushed children and threatened the school authority, according to eye witnesses. The activists even went on to attack the school benches, chairs and music systems.

Four of the activists have been arrested by the police and the accused have been charged with trespassing, rioting and creating an atmosphere of fear. However, the Karni Sena condemned such an incident.

Surendra Bhati of Rajput Karni Sena Ujjain told NDTV: “We condemn such incidents, we are here to fight for a cause to protect the dignity of our community, but we won’t create an atmosphere of fear. If any of our members are found to be involved in the incident, we will take action against them.”

The incident is an extension to the ongoing controversy over Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial film ‘Padmaavat’ (earlier Padmavati).

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial film has been marred into controversy after several fringe groups, mostly Shri Rajput Karni Sena, accused the film maker of distorting history and portraying Rani Padmini in poor light in the movie.
