PATNA: In a lovely gesture, Muslim members donated both land and money to renovate a Hindu temple in eastern Indian state of Bihar.

The temple located at Muslim-dominated Budhpur village in Guraru block of Gaya district was in pathetic condition as the idols were lying under the open sky.

It was here that the Muslim members came forward and donated 2.5 kathas of land as well as Rs3.5 lakh to construct a new temple there.

“Our Hindu brothers had no proper place for worship. They had placed their Goddess in the open. So we decided to help them construct a temple,” Mansoor Ansari who donated land for the temple told Hindustan Times.

The temple has now emerged as a beautiful centre of communal harmony.

“We all live together here. This message should go across the country. The whole village came out to help in building this temple for which we are very happy,” elder villagers were quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
