PATNA: RJD lawmaker and Leader of Opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Yadav launched an scathing attack on chief minister Nitish Kumar over alleged mass rape of 34 girls in Muzaffrapur-based care home in Bihar.
He also wrote an open letter to the chief minister, questioning his silence over the issue and described it as the “most horrifying Institutional mass rape case”.
“Before a politician, I am the brother of seven sisters, the son of a mother and uncle to many nieces,” wrote Yadav, according to a report in The Statesman, underlining his concern for the girls who were allegedly raped inside the shelter home run by the Bihar government.
#MuzaffarpurMassRape pic.twitter.com/H8RJZFx5WJ

“The government slept while they were being raped every night,” he alleged.
“They must have expected that they will find safety, security, honour and sympathy and motherly care in government-run shelter homes. But what did they get? They were violated by those sheltered, supported and nurtured by the government,” Yadav wrote scathingly accusing the NDA government in the state over the incident.
