PATNA: Angry opposition members on Monday angrily protested in the portico of the Bihar House seeking resignation of chief minister Nitish Kumar after a POSCO court reportedly ordered for probing his role in the Muzaffarpur shelter home scandal.
Protesting members holding placards in hands shouted slogans against seeking resignation of the chief minister saying a fair investigation is not possible in the case until he resigns.
“The chief minister should immediately resign respecting the probe order against him by the POSCO court,” former chief minister Rabri Devi told the media on Monday.
“We can’t expect a fair investigation in the case until the chief minister resigns,” she said adding the opposition leaders would urge the court to put pressures on the chief minister to quit.
She charged the government with shielding the accused persons in the case saying “bahut galat kam hua hai”
Mocking at the chief minister for not quitting the throne, Rabri said the chief minister had been too quick in seeking resignation from others.
“But when fingers are being raised at him, he is sitting silent,” she asked.
Congress lawmaker Premchandra Mishra too described the situation quite serious.
“The way matter is coming to light everyday it appears the people in power are involved in the scandal and are trying to save the accused persons,” Mishra said.
