PATNA: The CBI today searched the residence of former Bihar social welfare minister Manju Verma and her in-laws.
The early Friday morning raids followed the alleged involvement of Verma’s husband in the Muzaffarpur shelter home sex scandal in which at least 34 girls were sexually exploited for months.
Reports quoting local media said a CBI team raided the official residence of former minister in Patna and grilled her husband.
Simultaneous raids were conducted at the residence of Verma and her relatives located at other places in Bihar.
Verma had resigned last week as the minister shortly after the name of her husband surfaced in the sex scandal being investigated by the CBI.
