PATNA: A key ally of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesdays said Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led coalition was going to lose the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
The Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) which is headed by federal minister Upendra Kushwaha made this prediction on Tuesday, saying the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) holds the power to perform for its strong support base in Bihar.
“The NDA will badly lose the 2019 LS polls. The RJD has the powerful support base in Bihar and the BJP-JD-U combine won’t be able to give any challenge to it,” RLSP acting national president Nagmani told the media on Tuesday.
“The BJP-JD-U don’t have their support base although they are trying to take on Lalu Prasad’s party,” Nagmani observed and described Tejashwi Yadav as the rising leader.
He said the RJD proved its support base in the last assembly polls when it emerged as the single largest party in the Bihar state assembly.
The fresh spate of bitterness in the NDA comes shortly after chief minister Nitish Kumar’s observation on Kushwaha, prompting the latter to seek “DNA” report of the former.
The RLSP is angry at the way the BJP was giving too much prominence to the JD-U whereas Kushwaha’s party was being offered only two seats, media reports say.
