PATNA: A RJD legislator Upendra Paswan had a providential escape when criminals opened fire at him. Paswan represents Bakhari seat in Bihar assembly.
The incident took place at a village in Begusarai district on Friday evening.
Reports said the legislator was holding meeting with party leaders outside his home when the motorcycle-borne criminals opened fire at him.
Although the legislator escaped unhurt, the bullets hit some villagers sitting by his side. Soon after opening fire, the criminals fled the scene.
Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav hit out at the Nitish Kumar government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
“It seems the chief minister is not satisfied after robbing the people’s mandate and is now targetting our legislators,” Tejashwi tweeted.
