PATNA: Indian minister Upendra Kushwaha on Saturday mounted heavy attacks on the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), describing it as a “sinking ship”, amply indicating his innings with the government is almost over now.
“NDA is a sinking ship in Bihar and it would be suicidal to ride it,” Kushwaha was quoted as telling the media on Saturday on his return to Patna from Delhi.
Kushwaha had been camping in Delhi for the past couple of days hoping to get invitations from the PM for one-to-one meeting but much to his shock the PM left for Argentina.
“It appears the BJP leadership has surrendered before (chief minister) Nitish Kumar. They must realize that the NDA ship is bound to sink if Nitish is riding it,” he added.
Kushwaha looked angry at the way the BJP leadership ignored him and didn’t give him appointment for meeting despite his repeated attempts.
“I understand the PM has a very schedule these days but he could have talked to me even over phone,” he said adding his neglect could prove disastrous.
“Jab nas manushya par chhata hai to pahle vivek mar jata hai,” he said.
Kushwaha heads the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) which is a key ally of the ruling NDA at the Centre.
