PATNA: The ruling Janata Dal United (JD-U) in Bihar was left in an a embarrassing situation on Friday when a BJP minister revealed chief minister Nitish Kumar returned to the saffron camp perhaps after “foreseeing” a problem in the Grand Alliance.

“Nitish Kumar came back owing to a problem. Had he remained in the Mahagathbandhan, he would have had to visit jail to meet Lalu Prasad,” senior BJP leader and Bihar tourism minister Pramod Kumar was quoted as saying by news agency PTI on Friday.

The minister made these remarks while replying to a media query over Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief Upendra Kushwaha reminding the BJP about how the chief minister had once termed it as “Bhartiya Joomla Partry”.

“Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad used to describe the BJP in the same way. But where are they now?” asked the minister sarcastically.

He went on to add it was the chief minister who came back to the BJP.

The minister had gone to attend a function in Jehanabad district on Friday where he passed these sarcastic remarks towards the chief minister.
