PATNA: Police in Bihar have finally arrested the man who threatened to “bomb” chief minister Nitish Kumar and his security guards on Friday.
The Patna police acted with rare speed to arrest the man who had allegedly issued murder threat to the chief minister through the social media.
The accused identified as Pramod Kumar alias Poema was arrested from Fatuha area of Patna district after the video of the threat went vital on the WhatsApp group.
A ruling Janata Dal United (JD-U) leader who was a member of the group soon reported the matter to the police.
Since the matter involved the chief minister, the local police instantly swung into action and eventually arrested the accused from a village in Fatuha block of Patna district on Friday evening.
“Soon after the video went viral, the police came into action and arrested the accused,” Patna’s senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaj said.
A team of police officials is interrogating the youth to know why he posted the video on social media.
According to unconfirmed reports, the arrested youth was angry with Nitish Kumar over the current sand crisis in the state which hit his business.
It is reliably learnt that some people made him speak against the chief minister by serving him liquor.
