PATNA: The Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) led by union minister Upendra Kushwaha has termed JD-U as “Paltu” (turncoat), clearly indicating both the partners are fast heading for divorce.
JD-U which is headed by chief minister Nitish Kumar returned to the NDA in July last year four years after walking out of the alliance.
“JD-U is ‘paltu’, it has returned to the NDA only recently while we have been there for long,” RLSP’s national working president Nagmani said on Friday.
He made threes remarks while addressing the 96th birth anniversary of socialist leader Jagdeo Prasad held in the local SK Memorial hall.
He claimed the RLSP is part of the NDA and will continue with it but took potshots at the JD-U over its changing political stand.
At the meeting, the speakers again projected Kushwaha as the chief ministerial candidate. Kushwaha, however, skipped the event as he was unwell.
Both BJP and the JD-U boycotted the function again. Reports said the RLSP had invited the Kushwaha leaders associated with the BJP and JD-U to the function but they boycotted it.
Last week, the NDA allies had boycotted the human chain programme of RLSP seeking for reforms in the education system.
