PATNA: The JD-U led by chief minister Nitish Kumar is worried over delay in finalistation of NDA’s seat-sharing formula and wants to settle the issue without any further delay.
“The BJP should immediately settle the seat-sharing issue and also announce the name of candidates and their constituencies,” JD-U general secretary KC Tyagi told the media on Tuesday.
He said the seat distribution would help every party in the NDA focus on poll preparations for better results.
“This will be beneficial for all parties, and not for the JD-U alone,” he claimed adding the JD-U lacked enough resources despite being a ruling party.
“And, hence wants time for pol preparations. It will be better if the name of the candidates is announced,” he wished.
Last week, a report in the local media claimed the BJP has finalised the seat-sharing deal with its allies in Bihar although many of its allies have expressed displeasure over the seat offer.
As per the formula, of the total 40 LS seats in Bihar, the BJP will take the lion’s share of 20 seats while the remaining 20 seats will go to its allies.
Of the 20 seats spared for allies, 12 will go to the JD-U while eight seats will be distributed among the remaining allies which include Ram Vilas Paswan’s LJP and Upendra Kushawaha’s RLSP.
