PATNA: Congress’ national general secretary Ashok Gehlot created a consternation in the political circles today by stating that his party has entered into alliance with RJD and other regional parties “under compulsion”.
“The Congress was once the powerful political force in the country but today it is compelled to enter into an alliance with the regional forces under compulsion. We can’t form government on its own,” Gehlot told the party workers in Patna today.
He hit out at chief minister Nitish Kumar for going back into the company of “communal forces” saying the latter would have to repent for once day.
“Everyone knows that Nitish Kumar’s alliance with the BJP is not natural,” he added.
Earlier in the day, Gehlot rushed to meet RJD chief Lalu Prasad at latter residence in Patna to enquire about his health. Prasad is currently recuperating after his fistula surgery in a Mumbai hospital.
