‘Nothing unusual if my husband talked to Thakur…we are in public life’: Bihar minister

PATNA: A police investigation into the Muzaffarpur care home sex scandal has established a close link between the main accused Brajesh Thakur and Chandra Shekhar Verma, husband of Bihar social welfare minister Manju Verma, according to media reports.

According to the report, minister’s husband talked to Thakur as many as 17th times in between January and May this year.

The investigation has found the minister’s husband remained in close contact with the main accused and both even travelled to Delhi together many times.

The minister has come out in strong defence of her husband and said their conversation nothing unusual.

“We have been public life and it’s but natural we will take their calls,” the minister explained adding they were not aware about Thakur’s character before the Muzaffarpur incident came to light.
