PATNA: Two senior officials from BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh had reportedly called up the CBI judge hearing a fodder scam case to alledledly seek favour in Lalu Prasad’s sentencing.
According to reports in Hindi dailies, a district magistrate and a sub-divisonal magistrate had requested the judge to “show leniency” in passing judgement against Prasad in the case.
“Lalu ji achchhe aadami hain…jara dekh lijiyega (Lalu ji is a nice man. Pl look into this),” the officials were quoted in two Hindi dailies as telling the judge during the conversation.
The judge himself had made these revelations during hearing of the case saying “Lalu ji I have been getting calls from your well wishers”.
But these officials, however, have denied having made these calls saying they can’t call up the judcial official to seek favour .
